About me

Hi, I'm Alison. I bring over 25 years of experience as a personal trainer, Pilates instructor, and science educator. I founded SheVive following a long, yet ultimately successful, journey with my hormones and fertility.

In my 30s, without changing my diet, lifestyle, or routines, I began noticing subtle shifts: disrupted sleep, fluctuating energy, and a sense that something just wasn’t right.

Still, I entered fertility journey full of hope.

What followed was a decade of emotional highs and lows, multiple losses and a growing sense that I was losing touch with my old self. I experienced seemingly unrelated symptoms: mood swings, brain fog, internal electrical shocks, and anxiety that made me feel like I was going crazy. After much research, I realised I was in perimenopause.

Like many women, in fact, around 60% of those surveyed¹, I had never been informed about menopause before the symptoms began affecting my work, relationships, and overall wellbeing.

Because hormone therapy wasn’t an option while trying to conceive, I felt alone and uncertain. Yet, as a firm believer in education and having a growth mindset, I turned to study and research. Through personal scientific research, multiple courses and a university Masters degree, I began connecting the dots.

I learned how stress hormones can disrupt the body’s ability to balance other hormones, making stress reduction my primary focus. I also discovered how nutrition, lifestyle changes, and adaptogenic support could improve my sleep, mood, and energy.

I adapted my exercise routines too - shifting from high intensity to more restorative movement that supported, rather than stressed, my body. Bit by bit, I found alignment and joy.

Today, I’m fully committed to helping women feel informed, aligned, empowered, and nurtured through every stage of hormonal transition.

My MSc in Clinical Nutrition (with Distinction) further sharpened my research skills, enabling me to provide science-backed, evidence-based women's education and practical guidance - delivered with empathy and understanding born from experience.
